Problem: No chimes or only the middle weight descends on a triple chime cable driven clock
Make sure the chime switch hasn’t been accidentally bumped to silent
Set the minute hand [the long one] at 3 minutes after the hour. Go to the right side
off the cabinet and remove the access panel.
On the inside will be 8 hammers that strike the chime rods.
One of the hammers will be slightly back from the other
.
To the left is the movement that contains the gears of the chimes. At the top is a small brass blade.
Pull all 8 hammers back towards you, while at the same time flicking the blade away from you.
The chime gears should move and the hammers will now be aligned. The chimes may be out
of sequence, but they will automatically reset themselves within 2 hour
